Olympic National Park is a massive location, fantastic for engagement sessions, weddings or elopements. It has 4 stunning features couples love to use to show off their adventurous side. From the rainforests, rugged coastlines, to mountain tops and peaceful lakes – you really can’t go wrong.
The best time of year for an engagement in ONP has got to be mid summer to early fall. July through October are best, because the mountains are accessible, the rainforests are filled with foliage, and the weather is typically warm and mild.
Given the climate, multitude of scenery, and accessibility of the park’s most iconic locations… Olympic National Park is one of the best locations for your engagement session!
Hanna & Sean and I got connected through Hanna’s sister, who’s also a photographer. We had our first call over zoom, so we were able to see each other’s faces and truly connect. When we realized how laid back we all were, and what they were looking for out of their photographer – we knew we’d be a good fit for their wedding day.
Originally, they didn’t anticipate wanting an engagement session, especially in the same summer as their wedding. After some chatting back and forth though, we decided it was a great way for them to score extra photos, and for us to get to know each other more during their wedding day.
We carpooled on the way there, jammed out to some rad tunes, and got to know each other a bit better. Since they’re teachers, I got to pick their brain about crazy life has been during the rise and fall of COVID.
The images included in this blog are just a sample of what was included in their gallery! Typically, I deliver at least 60-90 photos from each engagement session, and this one had TONS more. I can’t help it when my couples are so stinkin’ cute, and we’re having such a good time.
We started out in the rainforest, and Hanna immediately wanted to kick off her sandals from the start. Barefoot exploring soft dirt trails, filled with ferns and trees dripping with moss?! HELL TO THE YEAH.
When we got to the rugged coast of Olympic National Park near Kalaloch, they both immediately went barefoot. Included in my sessions are an outfit change, so they went more casual. We even had a picnic and brought out my lanterns for some fun in the water!
