Jake & Megan got married in late July, just outside of Seattle, Washington in Snohomish. They chose Jardin Del Sol as their wedding venue for both the ceremony and the reception, and Jardin Del Sol delivered! The entire venue is gorgeous. From the well-designed getting ready rooms, to the reception area and main garden sanctuary – it was a dream to photograph a wedding there (and I’d love to do it again!). Jardin Del Sol is easily one of the best Washington state wedding venues.
Jardin Del Sol includes lots of helpful information on their website, such as maximum occupancy of 200, vendor details, and a long list of included rentals (tents, chairs, etc.).
Jake and I grew up down the street from each other, so when he reached out to me to photograph his wedding – I was ecstatic. I still remember eating dino nuggets and playing video games with his older brother and their baby sitter. Jake & Megan chose my most popular package, 8 hours of wedding day coverage and an engagement session. They took my recommendation of hiring Ochoa Wedding Films for videography. Nathan (Ochoa) is always a pleasure to work with, and he’s one of my closest friends!

They started their day getting ready with their wedding parties off site. When they arrived, they separated to add the finishing touches and get ready for their first look. Megan, her mom, and her bridesmaids were nothing but smiles as she got ready for her wedding day.
Jake’s mom helped him pin on his boutonniere, an emotional moment for them to share.
After Jake & Megan were both done getting ready, they shared a first look, along with private vows. First looks are phenomenal for couples that want to prioritize time together on their wedding day. The emotion created within the experience helps create candid photos, and it creates a sentimental memory for the both of you.
Sharing vows privately also allows you to spend more time together on your wedding day. You can also speak more freely, as the only people there are the ones that you invite (typically just photo & video). Videographers also benefit from private vows, since it makes recording the vows so much easier.
After their first look and vow exchange, we took couples portraits and group photos! Pro tip for family photos – start with everyone on both sides at once, then break down into smaller groups and combinations. This gets the hardest part out of the way first, and will allow everyone to get back to the wedding sooner!
Next, was the ceremony and reception. Along with a beautiful ceremony, came heartfelt toasts and speaches.
Then, they finished off the evening with a sparkler exit. Always a favorite of mine to photograph!
When I edit a photo black and white, I deliver both! They’re both beautiful photographs.
I can never adequately express how much it means to me to photograph such wonderful people getting married in such beautiful places.
